Most of the grocery stores are smaller shops with a limited selection. Just about everything is shipped in so keep that in mind if you want the best selections. Also, hours are limited (most are closed on Sunday) so one of the first things you should do is stop in at a Grocery Store and pick up a few items at least.
Island Farms is on Queens Highway just south of Palmetto Point. Great for fresh salad greens, vegetables, seasonal fruit (the pineapple is out of this world when available) and fresh breads (on Tues. and Fri.).
Market Place in Rock Sound – probably the best variety around. We prefer to fly into Rock Sound, then drive 1 mile south and load up on Groceries.
Burrows Grocery Store – Governor’s Harbour (the also have a liquor store next door)
Eleuthera Supply – Governor’s Harbour – now open on sundays
Ronnie’s – For Wine and Beer (Cupids Cay)
Lakias – North Palmetto Point – best hours
Millards – North Palmetto Point
Fresh Fish – Go to the Docks at Tarpum Bay around 3 pm if it was a good “Fishing Day”
Stone crab claws – Finding them each year is a challenge. But if you can ask around you may find out when to meet the boat when it comes in (or who is selling them). But nothing beats buying them fresh off the boat. The last time we were there, the tire store in Gregorytown was selling them.
